Three riders were injured during the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross season opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California including Lux Turner (hip), Dylan Walsh (lacerated intestine), and Logan Karnow (broken leg). They will not be part of the AMA Supercross San Francisco Round 2 which will be held at Oracle Stadium in San Francisco. Karnow was riding a 450; Walsh and Turner were in the 250 division..
It was Walsh who went down first. In Qualifying 2, he suffered a severe crash and was unable to rejoin the race. Walsh was taken to a nearby hospital, where he had surgery, received treatment for a lacerated bowel, and is now recuperating. Walsh is expected to return towards the conclusion of the 250 West schedule, although he will miss the first half of it.
Until Walsh gets back, Max Sanford will ride in his stead.
Lux Turner qualified for the main event after making his first 250 SX start; however, he wrecked close to the finish line, resulting in a long Red Cross flag appearing in a rhythm section.
