After 14 seasons of racing in Oakland across the bay, the Monster Energy Supercross is making its first visit to San Francisco's Oracle Park since 2010. With record-breaking names, this is a fitting second location for the series' 50th anniversary. The San Francisco Supercross race will happen on 13 January 2024. The most recent winner was Ryan Villopoto, who defeated Josh Hill and Davi Millsaps. However, if we look a little lower down the record order, NBC's Jason Thomas placed 13th on the official list.
Drama arose during Villopoto's victory. Ryan Dungey, a rookie who would go on to achieve great things, was leading the field by ten seconds and was going for his third straight victory when he got into a crash late in the race. Dungey's bike was broken, and he dropped to fourth.
Eli Tomac won over Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton in the previous year's race, which was delayed by a month due to severe storms in the Bay Area.
An intriguing coincidence arises with the emergence of a fresh face in the 450 category, poised to create quite a buzz. In the 2024 AMA Supercross, Jett Lawrence was the first rider to win the season opener race at Anaheim 1 and made history. He is also the favorite to win this week because of his flawless Pro Motocross season and his first-ever SuperMotocross World Championship title.
