With such a vast pool of talent, the 2023 AMA Supercross season promises to be competitive. Fans are expecting another spectacular season, the riders are ready (they hope), and many riders believe this is their year to win races and will do all it takes to do so.
Eli Tomac
Eli Tomac won last year. Eli had a flawless season in 2022 and says he's never been stronger mentally. That spells trouble for everyone else, and the question mark may make him faster.
Jason Anderson
Last year, Jason Anderson was in the lead, but mechanical issues and disputes with other riders caused him to crash, which allowed Eli Tomac to win the series. This year, Anderson must prevent those personal conflicts and vendettas from detracting from his title defense. He has one more season on the Kawasaki, is a seasoned title contender, and seems to be having a great time competing with the Kawasaki team.
Chase Sexton
Chase Sexton had a great outdoor season and pushed Eli Tomac. Can he carry that momentum into the supercross? Despite his speed and elegance, Sexton only won one race last year due to big crashes and a weary body. if he eliminates errors. Sexton is a title contender.
Dylan Ferrandis
Dylan Ferrandis is the underdog in 2023. Ferrandis' 2022 was marred by bad starts, injuries, and more injuries, but he demonstrated his pace at the MXoN and reportedly feels more comfortable on the new Yamaha. Ferrandis may need a few early wins to believe he's a title candidate, and he needs solid starts. If Yamaha fixes it, he'll be a threat.
Justin Barcia
Justin Barcia was a one-man wrecking ball last year. Will the responsibility of fatherhood bring him peace, or will he become even more driven than before? Will it benefit or hurt the aggressive American because Barcia will be riding the new frame a full year after the KTM and Husky riders? Barcia rode the old frame last season.
