This story about pros racing amateur events has been beaten on for years.
My op is amateur events are for just that!
Maybe if there weren't so many dam classes for everyone (participation awards) then maybe some pro classes could fit in the programs!
Just on my local level, it's frustrating to see a couple of small bikes on the track for a moto when they could be combined with the other couple of small bikes that are only separated by 1-2 yrs. Even on the vet end of it, there are too many classes.
So let's get to the big amateur events, there are a lot of us vet riders who never thought about or didn't make pro in our younger days.
We look at LL'S as our shot, for us working men putting in 40-plus hours a week at a job and trying to ride and train is mind-blowing. To just make it out of a region is a big win, so why should we have to race against an ex-pro cardholder?
I would love to see more vet-only race events locally and across the country to be able to get more racing in on the weekends. Some states have crazy amounts of vet riders that outnumber all the other classes. We want more track time and less time waiting to get back on track.
I vote for more vet pro classes
