Eli Tomac joined with Ricky Carmichael in March 2021 at the Daytona International Circuit and won the most monster energy supercross championship. If Tomac wants to win the title in 2022, he'll have to overtake Carmichael again. This week, Supercross and Daytona unveiled a temporary 0.625-mile track design that will fill the Daytona line on lap 9 of their 17-race schedule on Saturday 5th March.

NBC analyst Carmichael has designed the track 15th time in a row.

Carmichael won't make it easy for Tomac or the rest of the field. The course 2022 will have 57 hurdles.

"I can't believe that I have designed the Daytona Supercross circuit for 15 years," Carmichael said in a statement. “Every year we try to improve it for both the fans and the drivers, and in 2022 I think we did it with new changes.

First of all, I am very happy that we can restore the overhead bridge to its original shape because it provides more options for the stadium. That's what I'm looking forward to the most, and Split Lane, along with the famous stretch of sand that fans have always liked to see. The Daytona Supercross in March will be the only race in my hometown of Florida, so I am very excited about it. It will be a great track, and I can't wait to see how it all turns out this year. "

Carmichael loves this bridge. Fans have the chance to watch part of the field trip on a vehicle while another part is played underneath, which makes for breathtaking visual effects - especially since the bridge is closer to the third. There are more oval stands than in previous years.

An additional return feature-which has always been the main feature often, seen in the course-is the beach section, which usually presents one of the biggest challenges for the drivers.

The top finish line runs parallel to the NASCAR finish line.

Ricky once again did this with his incredible and unprecedented course, which will surprise fans who participated in the Daytona Supercross in the 2022s," said Frank Kelleher, President of Daytona International Speedway. "Combining its challenging design with the historical influence of the anticipated event will make the iconic event under the light one of the eternal. "

As far as Daytona is concerned, "history" is appropriate usage. The infield TT track dates back to 1971, making it the longest continuous SX race in the United States.
