This morning, the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team shared some exciting news: Ty Masterpool has joined the team and will compete in his first Supercross for the team this weekend at round two of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series in San Diego, California. This late decision follows Levi Kitchen missing the Anaheim One opener while sick, with only Garrett Marchbanks representing the team at that event.
The Ty Masterpool team posted on social media that he will be playing in the San Diego supercross for the 250SX Western Regional Championship title.
Masterpool now will take over Kitchen’s spot on the west coast while Kitchen goes to race in the east coast series. Because Kitchen didn't compete in any timed qualifying sessions, he remains eligible to race in the East Coast series. Much speculation was in place that the team would pick up Supercross rookie Drew Adams as a replacement, but it appears either they are holding him out for the east coast or simply looking to give him some time before his Supercross debut.
