The wait is over as the AMA Supercross Championship 2025 season opening race will gets underway this weekend in Anaheim, California. Some riders can't race because of injuries. 450SX


Christian Craig: Knee | Out


Craig has been out since tearing his ACL and meniscus in the final round of the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) in Las Vegas, Nevada, but hopes to return to action in Tampa.


250SX


Casey Cochran: Leg | Out


The Cochran leg was injured in November and needed surgery. He will not play in the Anaheim 1 Supercross 2025.


Derek Drake: Illness | Out


Drake shared on Instagram that he is suffering from Lyme disease and will be absent for at least the start of the season.


RJ Hampshire: Wrist | TBD


Just before the opening round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Hampshire suffered a wrist injury. He did return to racing later in the season, but required another wrist surgery. No one’s commented officially about his status, but it seems a long shot that he’s on the line this weekend.


Devin Simonson: Wrist | TBD


Simonson wrist was injured just before Christmas that needed surgery. Probably, he will not play in the early part of the 250SX east region.


Jalek Swoll: Achilles | Out

 

Jalek Swoll is out with a ruptured Achilles tendon, as our own Steve Matthes broke earlier this week. We’ll have more on this as details unfold.
