2024 Supercross Detroit: Webb's 10th win

Parity is the driving force behind the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross season, and it will remain the most talked-about storyline of the week until a repeat victor is announced. Eight different riders have won in the 450 and 250 West divisions combined through two dry rounds and two muddy rounds. With the 250 East riders dominating this week at Ford Field in Detroit, the 250 division will certainly continue its winning streak.

It's still unclear who will win in Detroit: Jett Lawrence (Anaheim Round 1 winner), Chase Sexton (San Francisco Round 2 winner), Aaron Plessinger (San Diego Round 3 winner), or Cooper Webb (Anaheim Round 4 winner). These four riders secure four points; Eli Tomac, Jason Anderson, and Ken Roczen are the next most likely contenders to continue the 450-streak.

This marks the fifth occasion in Supercross history that we have seen four winners in the first four rounds, according to Clinton Fowler. Remarkably, two of these prior occurrences occurred in the three seasons prior, with Roczen, Tomac, Anderson, and Sexton emerging victorious in 2022, after Justin Barcia, Tomac, Webb, and Roczen did so in 2021.
After five weeks, we have yet to witness five victories.

After five weeks, we have yet to witness five victories.

The most probable person to save the steak is Tomac. At Ford Field, he has already recorded several victories, totaling four. Tomac finished third on the podium the previous year and has won three of the last four races held at this location.

The other riders who are currently competing and have won at Ford Field are Sexton and Anderson.

Webb's success last week came after he had failed to win any of the three Triple Crown races. He placed second in the first two races and fifth in the final. This is only the second occasion in the history of the format that an overall winner has emerged without competing in an individual moto. Two years earlier, Tomac finished 3-2-2 in Arlington, Texas.

With his victory, Webb broke a tie with Roczen for tenth place in all-time wins. Roczen will attempt to maintain the parity streak and recover the tie.

The top five Supercross point scorers are currently separated by 10 points only a small difference.
