Dylan Ferrandis began a good start in the 2024 Supercross Season

Dylan Ferrandis had a slightly stronger start to the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing season last year, with 4-6-5 scores for the first three rounds compared to this year's 5-6-6 results.

But his year was quickly cut short in the fourth round when he struck Ken Roczen and suffered a severe concussion. When he returned for motocross, he had trouble with the new YZ450F, which started a downhill spiral that prompted him to think about retiring.

Ferrandis was losing interest in his team and his bike. His dream bike was a Honda, which he was able to obtain when Phoenix Racing, working with Factory Connection, built up a 450 program for him. Dylan has shown a deep affection for the Honda thus far, even though the grass isn't always greener on the other side. He was possibly the happiest we had ever seen him in his career when we saw him in December, and the romance has persisted at the races. He won a heat race and finished sixth in the main after round two in San Francisco. After leaving the circuit, he informed Heath Harrison, the Phoenix Honda Team Manager, that the bike was "perfect."

I'm not sure if a cyclist of Ferrandis' caliber has ever spoken such words.

The damp, sloppy circumstances in San Francisco suited him well, while the slippery sludge in San Diego did not. Nonetheless, he repeated his sixth-place finish.
